Katie started as an escrow assistant in 1978 and now has over 35 years of seeing it all! From interest rates of 18%, and “creative financing” including Land Sale Contracts, All Inclusive Trust Deed purchases, Bulk Sales, to today’s short sales. You would be hard pressed to present an escrow scenario to Katie that she hasn’t already experienced – probably a few times! Katie handles all types of escrows, including commercial, residential, 1031 tax deferred exchanges, and has this to say about what makes the job “new” for her after all of these years: “My favorite part of escrow is being presented with a difficult challenge in a particular transaction, and coming up with the solution that no one else could find. That’s what still gives me the sense of anticipation every day when I come to work. I hope that today I make someone’s life a little simpler – and less stressful – by knowing what needs to be done, and how to do it….well.” Katie acts as a volunteer at local hospitals, nursing and senior facilities with her certified Therapy dog, Kirby. She also trains and fosters abused dogs to help them be placed in new, forever homes.
Phoebe, a long time resident of Culver City, has been in the escrow business for 10 years, starting under the tutelage of the late, great, Charelle Cunningham. Phoebe joined Katie McGuire’s team in 2008 as an assistant, and has grown and developed into an accomplished Junior Officer. Phoebe’s calm manner, and detail oriented personality makes her an invaluable asset to Katie and Resolution Escrow. Among her many contributions to Resolution Escrow, Phoebe is responsible for instituting the process of agent weekly status reports for each transaction – a special service that many agents have come to love and rely upon to keep them up to date current in their escrow process. Although she loves her career, Phoebe’s real passion is her two beautiful children: Ayden, 13 and Paige, 2. In addition to her human children, Phoebe is a doting mother to “Butch”, a 10 year old Corgi.
